FAQ'S

What does GODO stand for?

My grandfather’s name was Godofredo Rodezno, and this will always be his coffee—hence, Godo's Coffee. For 53 years, he dedicated himself to our farm and the art of coffee, mastering every step of the process. He was the man I admired most, and my goal is to share his legacy through every great cup of coffee, bringing the tradition from our farm to your table.

How long does it take for my order to arrive?

We restock our most popular whole bean, medium-to-dark roast coffees weekly and ship within 2 business days via USPS from our U.S. location.

Orders with custom grind sizes or non-standard roast profiles are prepared fresh and may ship within up to 5 business days, often directly from our roastery in El Salvador.

Large or bulk orders are shipped from El Salvador via UPS or DHL, and all deliveries typically arrive within 2 to 5 business days, depending on the carrier and any unforeseen delays.

How fresh are the beans?

We currently roast two to three times a week and ship beans within 2 to 5 days at most. Freshly roasted coffee needs to rest for at least 24 hours before it is recommended for grinding. For optimal flavor, we suggest brewing after the coffee has degassed for at least 5 to 7 days post-roast. The coffee's aroma is at its peak intensity and freshness within the first month after roasting.

Large orders will be processed within three business days and shipped from our roaster in El Salvador.

Are the flavors in the notes added flavors?

No they are not. The flavors listed in the notes and what you smell and taste are all natural part of the properties of our coffee. The location where it is grown, how it is processed (whether natural or washed in our case), how the coffee is roasted , stored and even the way it is brewed are all factors that can impact the flavor.

Is the coffee organic certified?

This is one of the most frequently asked questions, and we understand its importance. However, the short answer is no—we are not certified organic.

The organic certification is often perceived as a reliable indicator of quality and sustainability. However, in practice, the process is not so straightforward. Obtaining certifications like organic comes with significant logistical and financial challenges, making it difficult for coffee producers and roasters like us to qualify, especially in the early stages.

Additionally, organic certification does not necessarily guarantee better quality, superior flavor, or higher earnings for farmers.

What is the source of the coffee?

Our signature family blend comes directly from our farm in La Libertad, which has been family-owned for over 100 years.

Our single-origin Pacamara and Bourbon beans come from the farm of a close family friend who worked alongside Godo for many years. Located in Chalatenango, his farm upholds the same dedication to quality, and our close collaboration ensures we provide exceptional beans.

As we expand our coffee selection, we remain committed to sharing the origin and key details of each variety with full transparency

Do you offer ground coffee or only whole beans?

To ensure maximum freshness, we primarily sell whole beans. However, if you need ground coffee, we can grind it to your preferred size upon request.

What grind size should I use for brewing?

The ideal grind size depends on your brewing method:

  • Espresso – Fine grind
  • Pour-over (V60, Chemex, Kalita Wave) – Medium-fine to medium grind
  • Drip coffee makers – Medium grind
  • French press or cold brew – Coarse grind
